Given the lag I'll post the topic for Blocks 1&2: So here's our first little topic I'm going to ask you to reply to:

Wearable technology is rapidly developing into a lucrative market. But, some say this will be a very temporary window given the advancements in embedded bio-devices. See the article below, and project what you think will be the year that the majority of citizens in developed conuntries will choose to "host" such devices in their bodies. Comment on your own feelings, and the impact on the digital media profession.

We've found electronic throat tattoos, password pills and memory chips. Find out how "grinders" are already embracing our cyborg future...

 2. I think some applications of this technology may prove useful. Especially when it comes to Alzheimer's patients or people with vision loss. If anything could be done to improve either of these conditions, it would be a breakthrough! I do not however find it necessary to take a pill just so you don't have to remember your passwords. Sounds a little unneeded if you ask me. Hopefully a year will never come where a majority of citizens posses this type of technology. I just haven't been sold on any type of need for implants yet. The only good thing I see this this definitely bringing is new jobs to digital media professionals. By all means, keep the advancements coming..... Make me a believer! Chris Ouimette

 3. I agree with you Chris, this type of technology will be great for certain applications for actual physical and mental health issues. I've read about the digital tattoos before and the applications are very exciting and promising. Of course it will eventually get to the point where society will accept the ridiculousness of swallowing a "password pill", or other silliness, as something that everyone should be doing. The smart phone originally was not accepted as a viable venture, but I believe that mindset has subsided. A couple more observations about the "password pill"; you will obviously pass it. So will you have a whole jar full of these pills? And what happens when you add a password or change one? Trevor Petersma
